September 2005

Greetings from the Poeta!

This is an online-only letter as I was unable to meet the Acorn's deadline due to real life priorities. I want to use this space to congratulate the winner of this year's Pennsic Known Worlde Poetic Challenge - Lady Ursula Georges, an entrant from An Tir whose excellent 16th century emblem poem knocked off the judges' socks.

I want to also thank and applaud all the entrants for their excellent pieces - there was not a single poem in the bunch that would have failed to make its royal focus proud. Vivant all!

Special thanks also go the team of judges: Mistress Rosalind Jehanne, from Atlantia; Master Michael Alewright, from Aethelmearc; and Mistress Dorigen of the Grey Gate, from the East. Thank you, each and all. I could not have done it without you.

Humbly,
Olivier de Bayonne

Additional online notes: Because of real life issues, this letter has no printed Acorn equivalent or attached poem. I apologize if this disappoints you - there will be more to come in the future, I swear!
