Greetings from the outgoing Poeta!
By the time you read this, I should no longer be the Poeta Atlantiae, my successor being chosen at Kingdom Twelfth Night in early January. I recommend you check out the Poeta website (hint: you're looking at it right now!) to find out if you haven't heard yet! I just wanted to take this final opportunity to thank Their Majesties, Their Highnesses, the KMOAS, and all the patrons of the poetic arts for their support given to the poets of Atlantia. I know I've had a blast so far!
I leave you with a final poem, based in style and language on the works of 15th c. Scot poet Robert Henryson.
Quhair sall I turn for inspiratioun,
That myhte remeid my wa and miserie?
I pane to schape some fair inuentioun
To plese and honour her swete maiestie
Quhose gentilnes beireth my courtesie,
For scho appeiris in euerie ladies face,
And maid in part is of all ladies grace.
It has been my great honor to serve in this position.
